I learned more about being an effective board member in two hours with Phil than I have learned serving on a board for three years. Thank you!

[Align] provided Laramie County Library System (LCLS) facilitation for strategic planning. LCLS Board of Directors, Foundation Director, County Librarian, Management and staff who participated all were pleased with the process, environment and outcome. Professionalism and the ability to see the uniqueness in individuals and our organization were the key components that [Align] brought to the process. They successfully dealt with very strong personalities and the introverts in the group. The variety of approaches used to seek information ensured participation by all. All materials were produced with thorough and accurate information. Quick response time, accuracy of minutes and follow up information assisted LCLS in productively using time between meetings. LCLS will definitely use WSLC services again in the future.

Great overview for those getting into serving as board member for non-profit boards – prudence, responsibility as a board member. Things to do to get on the right track.
Steve Golnar, City of Rawlins
Our Board was a little tired following the completion of the Building Expansion Project-and perhaps a little less focused than usual. We were also faced with my retirement after 18 years, and we needed help on how to initiate and follow through on the transition process (including hiring another director). Mona was great in getting everyone on the same page and that was not an easy task. Being a task master myself, I especially liked how she ensured we had a work plan complete with timelines and activities. We would not have been able to do this on our own. She is very skilled and gets everyone going before they realize they are on their way. I am a solid believer in strategic plans, and I highly recommend Mona. You will be delighted with the end product as well as the process.

The difference in my new board from the old one I inherited is 180 degrees. I have used forms and information from Align during our forming process and I am excited about the new board. I have also used information I gathered from others in class. I think the biggest change is in me. I feel much more confident when I interact with the board. I know what I want to accomplish with my tools and where to go for additional tools.
